Our genetic counselors help explain genetic risks and conditions in a clear way. They also coordinate genetic testing for patients with a personal or family history of a genetic condition or who may be at risk.
If you are referred to our Genetic Counseling Clinic, you will meet with a licensed genetic counselor. Our genetic counselors:
- Review your medical and family histories
- Discuss relevant information and management for the genetic condition
- Specialize in guiding families through complex medical decisions
Discussions will focus on analyzing inheritance patterns, explaining risks, and reviewing available testing options. Our genetic counselors will also contact you directly to explain any test results from genetic testing ordered at the visit.
