  • Choosing whether to circumcise a baby boy is a personal decision for families. 
  • Not circumcising may slightly increase the risk of urinary tract infections and penile cancer, though these risks are considered very small. 
  • Caring for an uncircumcised penis is simple and generally involves normal cleaning only. 
  • Circumcision care includes gentle cleaning and applying petroleum jelly during diaper changes while the area heals.
  • Parents should watch for signs of infection such as spreading redness, increased swelling, discharge, or fever and contact their pediatrician if they occur.
